and now it's a Wahoo KickR core Zwift one

So with the recent update to the Wahoo Kicker core firmware and with spending £99 It's now effectively a Zwift hub with bells on.

Using iPad (about 5 years old) and Kickr cadence and HR monitor all work together very well.

Not had any drop outs and not running the companion app, have good Broadband - although not in best location.

So far very pleased with it. Much quieter and will reduce wear on cassette and rear mech.

Right controller keeps going to sleep

Set up easy but both controllers rarely remain connected for a whole session

No more stretching to a screen.

Arrived quickly after paying the Beta price of £99. Packaging excellent although I would have preferred a more detailed user guide. Easy charging and battery life is exceptional. I had to pair the units via my phone but don’t consider this to be an issue as signal has been 100% reliable so far. Response from unit is slow when selecting worlds/workouts etc but once in the “game” ( Indoor training environment ) they work perfectly. No issues with the size or positioning of the units. I’m currently using an Elite trainer but I would expect even better compatibility with a Zwift trainer with single gear set up. Ties you to the Zwift universe but I can’t see any reason to try an alternative platform . Would have been a five star review if I had a Zwift hub and printed user guide.

Would be 5* if it wasnt for the constant connection drop outs

Initially I was really impressed. Being able to control everything without keyboard and/or phone was a game changer and made the experience far more immersive. However, the constant bluetooth connection dropouts are frustrating and often leave me forced to use the companion app on the phone.

    Game changer

The Zwift Play Controllers add a whole new dimension to the Zwifting experience, with steering and the ability to give ride-ons, drop power-ups etc without your hands leaving the bars. If you're lucky enough to have a trainer compatible with virtual shifting, then it gets even better.
